SAFE HAVEN COLONY ASSOCIATION is dedicated to charitable, scientific, and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Specifically, SAFE HAVEN COLONY ASSOCIATION shall support feral cat colony managers with the greater Houston,TX area through:
- Assistance with food, shelter, and basic medical needs;
- Education; and
- Community and networking.
By creating an organization of certified feral colony managers, we are forming a group of “microshelters” , or mini-sanctuaries, for unadoptable cats. These microshelters that colony managers create are the second step in the humane treatment of feral cats after Trap, Neuter and Return. The colony managers as a group deserve the same support that non-profit shelter organizations obtain.
